Georgia Meloni: We will allocate 9.5 billion euros to deal with the energy crisis

In energy crisis and new measures to deal with it, was mentioned Italian woman Prime Minister Georgia Meloni after the cabinet meeting.

“Next week we will make available 9.5 billion euros to deal with the effects of the energy crisis, and by the end of 2023 another 23 billion euros will be made available”, Meloni pointed out. At the same time, he announced that new licenses are to be issued for the extraction of natural gas within Italian territorial waters.

“We are in favor of using the European funds of the Cohesion Fund, for the period 2013-2020, with the aim of dealing with part of the emergency needs arising from the energy crisis. Regarding our National Recovery and Resilience Plan, we believe that the increase in the cost of raw materials creates problems in the implementation of some public projects. This is an issue that must be addressed,” the head of the Italian government stressed.

Regarding immigration, the Italian Minister of the Interior Matteo Piandendozzi underlined that the countries that give their flag to NGO ships, should contribute to hosting the refugees and migrants who are rescued. He added that the Humanity1 ship had entered Italian territorial waters in the last few hours, but that it would not be able to sail to an Italian port. As he said, it should be allowed to board an echelon of the Italian health authorities, which will decide on the transfer to a hospital of only those refugees and immigrants facing a proven health problem.

The Italian Prime Minister stated that “in no way does it intend to ban demonstrations, but with its government’s recent crackdown on rave parties, the need to ban an illegal form of entertainment has become clear”. In an attempt to appear more conciliatory, Georgia Meloni said the government was not ruling out any interventions to improve the measure, which provides for up to six years in prison for anyone who organizes or participates in rave parties.
