German Vice Chancellor and Economy Minister Robert Habeck said on Sunday that Europe could be on the brink of war, according to Reuters.
Speaking in an interview with RTL / NTV, Habek, without elaborating, said that numerous armed forces were facing each other.
“We may be on the brink of war in Europe,” he said. “It’s absolutely oppressive and threatening,” he added.
German Chancellor Olaf Solz is scheduled to travel to Moscow on Tuesday to meet with Putin, the head of state for a second visit after his French counterpart Emanuel Macron, as part of feverish diplomatic meetings aimed at preventing a new Russian attack on Ukraine.
