German environmental groups have filed a formal objection to a temporary permit from the Brandenburg environmental authority to build a Tesla gigafactory near Berlin.
The objection is based on the claim that Tesla did not clearly describe what precautions would be taken to prevent the toxic gas from leaking from the factory, the document said.
It also says that Tesla has changed its application for battery production at its facility, for which it has not yet received the necessary approval.
The Gruene Liga and NABU have said they will go to court if the government does not file an application to suspend the permit by June 16.
