German Foreign Minister adapted its travel recommendations for the US

The German Foreign Ministry adapted its travel recommendations for the US, warning German citizens that “preliminary decisions in the United States, false statements about the purpose of staying or even a slight extension of the travel license can lead to arrest or deportation at the time of entry”. The German government thus reacts to recent individual arrests and deportations of Germans to the US. A ministry spokesman also explained that “last week’s incidents involving German citizens entering the US were taken very seriously.” The change in US recommendations, however, has been clarified that it is not related to travel warning.
