German Vaccination Committee: AstraZeneca vaccine effective for people over 65

The vaccine recommendation AstraZeneca against coronavirus to be administered from now on and to people over 65 years of age was recently issued by the German Standing Vaccination Committee (StiKo), reviewing its previous evaluation, according to the APE.

The Commission communication notes that new studies show that the vaccine is effective in this age group as well.

“This is very good news for the elderly who are waiting to be vaccinated, as now it will be their turn faster,” said Health Minister Jens Spann.
