Germany: A CDU spokesman has demanded that arms be delivered to Ukraine

The deployment of weapons systems in Ukraine was demanded by the representative of the Christian Democratic Party (CDU) for foreign policy issues Norbert Retgen, pointing out that Germany’s refusal so far, in order not to undermine the chances of talks, no longer makes sense.

“We – and Germany – must now deliver what we can to Ukraine. And weapons. As of today, I am in favor of that,” Mr Retgen told WDR2. “Vladimir Putin has brought the war back to Europe again, because he wants to expand his territory. This is the worst horror imaginable. We had a peace order in Europe that Putin has completely destroyed today,” he said. Retgen.

Earlier, Ukraine’s ambassador to Berlin, Andrzej Melnik, told RBB radio that Germany had again asked for military assistance. “Now is the time for Germany to wake up,” the Ukrainian diplomat said, calling for the “hell-sanctions” imposed by the West on Russia to be implemented immediately. “The point now is to help us, not to reassure us in solidarity,” Melnik said.
