An attack with incendiary devices took place at a reception and accommodation center for refugees in Leipzig Germanywith a special police unit conducting an investigation to locate the perpetrators, who fled.
The security forces they put out the fire quickly and only material damages were causedwith police authorities reporting that there was no injury.
It is not clear so far whether the attack was politically motivated.
The Violent Crime Squad was tasked with investigating the attack.
The reception and hospitality structure has spaces for 225 people, according to the municipality of Leipzig.
Police in the state of Saxony are stepping up guarding and surveillance measures at all refugee accommodation facilities following the attack, state interior minister Armin Schuster said on Twitter.
The politician spoke of a warning that “such inhumane crimes were not only committed in the past”adding that thanks to the security forces no one was injured and only minor material damage was caused.
