Germany: CDU / CSU lead), SPD losses record poll

A significant lead of the Christian Union (CDU / CSU) shows a new poll, with the biggest losses being recorded for the Social Democratic Party (SPD).

The majority of respondents express dissatisfaction with the work of the government, while the most popular government ministers belong to the Green party.

According to the DeutechlandTrend survey of the Infratest dimap institute on behalf of the first channel of the German public television ARD, CDU / SCU are ahead of the voters by 27% (+1 point from the previous count), followed by the SPD with 21% (–3) and the Greens (+3). The Liberals (FDP) are gaining 8% (-1), the Alternative for Germany (AfD) remains at 11%, while the Left is gaining one point to 4%, but remains below the Bundestag threshold (5 %).

59% of respondents say “less satisfied” or “not at all satisfied” with the work of the government, while “satisfied” and “very satisfied” say 39%.

At the top of the list for the popularity of politicians are the former leaders of the Greens, the Minister of Economy Robert Hubbek and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Analena Berbok with 60%, while the Chancellor Olaf Solz is limited to the third place with 43%.

According to the poll, the war in Ukraine is the most important political issue in the country. They are followed by inflation, rising prices and energy costs, climate change and social inequalities.

42% of respondents consider German support for Ukraine with military equipment sufficient, 29% describe it as insufficient and 23% as excessive, however 50% believe that the government should react decisively to Russia. 43%, on the other hand, believe that Berlin should be more restrained so as not to provoke Russia.
