Germany considers sending self-propelled guns to Ukraine (source)

Germany is considering sending long-range self-propelled guns to Ukraine, a security source told Reuters today, confirming a report in the Welt am Sonntag just days after Berlin decided to send heavy weapons to K for the first time.

The move follows warnings from the Kremlin that Western arms deliveries to Ukraine pose a threat to the security of the European continent “and cause instability”.

Ukraine’s calls for heavy weapons intensified after Moscow moved its offensive to Donbass, a largely flat, open eastern region considered to be better suited for tank battles than north around the capital Kyiv. , where most of the fighting had taken place earlier.

Berlin is in talks with the Dutch government over the delivery of Panzerhaubitze 2000 to Ukraine, the source said, referring to one of the most powerful firearms in Bundeswehr reserves that can hit targets within 40 kilometers.

The Netherlands intends to deliver a “limited number” of the same self-propelled guns to Ukraine, the ANP news agency reported on Tuesday (26/4), as Germany has offered to provide training and ammunition for weapons made by the German company. KMW.
