Putin’s mouthpiece is becoming part of the far-right in Germany according to what the president of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Thomas Haldenwang, told Bild am Sonntag.
Asked if Russia in the protests is involved in the protests in Germany, Haldenwang states: “Only indirectly. Russia has massively expanded its disinformation activities in Germany and is spreading propaganda among us. Russian narratives include that NATO imposed the war on Russia and that sanctions are responsible for the energy crisis.
Parts of the far-right scene are adopting these slogans from Moscow. It is quite remarkable how uncritically some far-right and right-wing populists become Putin’s mouthpiece and sing his song.”
