Mr Habeck said the Federal Network Service would be the company ‘s manager until September 30, 2022, and explained that “the unprecedented move in the history of the Federal Republic of Germany is aimed at maintaining security of supply.

The announcement was preceded by the intention of the parent company to leave the German subsidiary, which it owned 100%, and to transfer it to the – unknown in Germany – Russian companies JSC Palmary and GPEBS. “We do not know who is behind these companies,” Mr Habeck said, adding that one of the buyers “ordered the liquidation of Gazprom Germania, which, if not approved, is not legal”.
