Four people were injured today in a knife attack on a university in West Germany, police said, adding that the alleged perpetrator has been arrested.
Authorities did not say how serious the injuries were or the motive for the attack, which took place at the University of Ham-Lipstat in North Rhine-Westphalia, about 50 kilometers from Dortmund.
“Many people were injured by a knife,” local police said in a Twitter post.

According to information from the local radio and television network WDR, the perpetrator is a young man from Ham. The injured are four students, three women and a man.
“We are on the spot, having developed significant police forces and we ask you to avoid the area,” police added.
