Germany: Industrial production falls 0.1% month-on-month in April compared to the expected 0.3%

Germany’s industrial sector remained in contraction in April, the latest data released by Destatis showed on Friday.

Industrial production in the Eurozone’s main economy decreased by 0.1% monthly, according to the federal statistics authority Destatis in figures adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects, compared to the expected +0.3% and a decrease of 0.4 % in March.

The German industrial production fell at an annual rate of 3.9% in April compared to the 3.3% drop in March.

The discouraging figures of the German industry had no impact on the Eurosince the EUR/USD is flat on the day at 1.0890 at press time.
