Prosecutors, federal police and other officials are investigating Deutsche Bank’s offices in Frankfurt, the city’s prosecutor’s office said.
Prosecutors declined to comment on the reasons for the investigation. The prosecutor’s office said that representatives of the financial regulator BaFin were also involved.
A Deutsche Bank spokesman declined to comment. BaFin declined to comment.
Deutsche Bank, under CEO Christian Ziving, is trying to restore its reputation after a series of embarrassing and costly regulatory failures.
Earlier this week, the bank announced a larger-than-expected 17% rise in first-quarter earnings as investment banking revenue rose sharply, but warned that the war in Ukraine could affect annual earnings.
