Germany: Preliminary manufacturing PMI rises to 39.8 in September vs. forecast of 39.5

  • The German manufacturing PMI improved to 39.8 in September, compared to the expected 39.5.
  • The services PMI of the German economy recovered to 49.8 points in September, compared to the expected 47.2.

According to the preliminary HCOB survey business activity report, released on Friday, German manufacturing sector records gradual recovery in September, while service sector recession eases.

He HCOB manufacturing PMI of the largest economy in the eurozone stood at 39.8 this month, compared to expectations of 39.5 and the record of 39.1 in August. The index reached its highest level in three months.

For his part, the Services PMI rose from 47.3 in August to 49.8 in September. The market consensus was 47.2 points. The measure hit a new two-month high.

He HCOB preliminary composite production index stood at 46.2 points in September, compared to the estimated 44.8 and 44.6 in August. The indicator recorded a two-month high.
