The formal negotiations Social Democrats (SPD), Greens and the pro-business Free Democrats (FDP) party form to form its new coalition government Germany, as expected in last month’s election, no party secured an absolute majority of seats in the Bundestag to form an autonomous government.

Six delegates from each party will meet with the heads of the working groups in Berlin. Overall there are 22 working groups to negotiate in the coming weeks the details of the coalition program agreement, called the “Traffic light” from the colors of the three factions (red, yellow, green).

According to the APE-MPE, the final agreement on the government is quite far away, as there are several differences on policy issues and the choices of the people who will staff the new government that will need to be resolved, although preliminary, informal talks between the three parties have already taken place.
