In the midst of its fourth wave of Covid-19, Germany set a new daily record of cases this Thursday (25). According to the Robert Koch Institute of Public Health, the country registered 75,691 new infections, reaching 5,573,756 total.
This is the second day in a row for a record in Germany, which reported 66,884 new cases the day before. The seven-day moving average stands at 50,000.
The country also registered 351 new deaths from the disease, reaching 100,119 total. With that, Germany becomes the 14th nation to surpass the mark of 100,000 deaths by the new coronavirus.
For Health Minister Jens Spahn, the country is facing a “national emergency” and does not rule out any possibility of fighting the virus.
After two months of negotiations, three of the main political parties in Germany presented this Wednesday (24) an agreement for a new coalition government. which should facilitate the adoption of new measures to combat Covid-19.
