Germany: The government plans to extend the lockdown until April 18

According to the RND Network, a document from the Chancellery states that “with high numbers of cases, it is necessary, before we open, to wait for the numbers to stabilize and decrease”. In addition, when it comes to travel, strict restraint is recommended to stop the spread of the virus from areas with more cases to others with fewer.

According to the same document, the BILD newspaper reports that the government’s plan envisages, among other things, restrictions on the movement of citizens in areas where the number of cases per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days remains for more than 100 days for more than three days. BILD, schools and kindergartens should be closed. According to the newspaper, this already concerns 180 of the 401 administrative departments of the country.
