The overall IFO Business Climate Index was rebase and recalibrated in April after the IFO Research Institute changed the series from the 2000 base year to the 2005 base year starting in May 2011 and then changed the series to include the service sector starting in April 2018. The survey now includes 9,000 monthly responses from companies in the manufacturing, service, trade and construction sectors.
