Germany: Towards compulsory coronavirus vaccination for those over 50 years of age

The prospect of introducing mandatory vaccination for citizens over the age of 18 against coronavirus seems to be abandoned, due to the lack of chances to be voted in favor by the Federal Parliament, according to German media.

The current plan now provides for vaccination for people over the age of 50.

According to the plan of many MPs of the ruling coalition parties (SPD, Greens, FDP), the obligation should at this stage be limited to those over 50 years old, while the citizens from 18 to 49 years old will go through a mandatory advisory session on with vaccination.

In early September, according to the same plan, a new attempt at general vaccination could possibly be made from the age of 18.
