Sony Pictures has just revealed the trailer and title for the new sequel to the Ghostbusters film series. “Ghostbusters: Apocalypse of Ice” will continue the feature film “Beyond”, a direct sequel to the original Ghostbusters films, set three decades after the events of “Ghostbusters II”.
Sony Pictures also revealed the film’s official synopsis: ‘Ghostbusters: Ice Apocalypse’, the Spengler family returns to the place where it all began – the iconic New York fire station – to join the original Ghostbusters, who have developed a Top secret research to take ghost busting to the next level. But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.”
In the trailer, the viewer discovers that the cold wave and the freezing of people is caused by “panic chills”, capable of literally killing people with fear, turning the person’s veins into rivers of ice.
“Ghostbuster: Mais Além” generated approximately US$205 million (more than R$1 billion). “Ghostbusters: Apocalypse of Ice” is scheduled to open in theaters around the world on March 29, 2024.
