A new stage in the legal battle that has been going on for years between Giancarlo Magalli and Adriana Volpe. The Court of Milan ruled that the Rai presenter, 74 years old, will have to compensate the Trentino showgirl, assisted by the lawyers Michele Briamonte, Nicola Menardo and Stefania Nubile of the Grande Stevens law firm, with a provisional payment of 25 thousand euros, to which a 14 thousand fine must be added.
Let’s take a step back. The incident occurred in November 2017, When Giancarlo Magalli was interviewed by the weekly Spend directed by Alfonso Signorini, speaking on that occasion of the Weinstein and Brizzi cases and giving his opinion on the (delicate and burning) theme of alleged sexual favors in the world of showbiz. Adriana Volpe, who became a civil party, sued Magalli, arguing that in the course of the interview the colleague had implicitly alluded to her and her career, suffering professional harm assessable in terms of loss of television engagements, hence the request for compensation.
Giancarlo Magalli wasted no time and as soon as he received the news he gave his opinion, publishing a long post on his Facebook page: “Given that between 5 … 4 … 3 … 2 … 1 the Fox will flood the web with press releases regarding my exemplary sentence for an interview where I talked about Me Too and did NOT mention it at all, I wanted to anticipate it by specifying that the judge gave me a fine (which I don’t even have to pay), a provisional fee (which I don’t have to pay) and legal fees (which I will pay). That’s before I say I’ve been sentenced to life in prison or 10 million in compensation. Incidentally, I, the journalist who had interviewed me and tried to get me to talk about the Fox (acquitted) and the editor-in-chief of the newspaper that had published it, were the defendants. For him the lawsuit has been withdrawn. And who are we talking about? But of Alfonso Signorini who coincidentally is the one Adriana has been working with ever since. Coincidences, eh…. ».
Who knows if Adriana Volpe will respond in kind. Meanwhile The next hearing is set for mid-April 2022 for the statements of Giancarlo Magalli a Your Facts, dating back to 2017. The battle continues.
