Gianecchini on character in “A Happy Family”: Shaped on set

The actor from São Paulo Reynaldo Gianecchini 51 years old, said this Thursday (4) that much of his character in the film “A happy family ” was constructed on set, improvised with instructions and requests from the director José Eduardo Belmonte . The feature film premiered today in Brazilian cinemas.

“It was a very different process. Things happened a lot on set. In presence, he [Belmonte] He asked us some things that weren't obvious. He even said 'don't study so much, don't come so prepared, come to be molded here'”, commented the actor.

“If it was a scene that you imagined doing while screaming in anger, he says 'no, here I want you to do it scared, but I want you to hide it from me'. He wanted it there, but hidden. Sometimes, we would show him, and he would say 'I see, let's start again'”, he added.

The actor's statement was given on the podcast “OdeioCinema”, available on digital platforms this Thursday.

He also compared the process of acting in the film by Raphael Montes with work he had done previously.

“It was very different from everything we did, especially soap operas, because the serials are all very explicit and no one has any doubts about what is happening because you are didactic. In our film it’s the opposite, it’s what you hide that is stronger, not what you’re saying, it’s what’s behind it.”

The film stars Gianecchini and the actress Thank you Massafera 41 years old.

In a conversation at the end of recording, he said that the two questioned whether they had done a good job, because they were unable to understand the results of their own work in Belmonte's recording method.

“We knew that we had delivered something really cool, that it was a good day of learning, but as a result, we said 'I don't really know what I did'”, he concluded.

The film “A Happy Family” is a suspense thriller that follows the lives of Eva (Grazi Massafera) and her husband, Vicente (Reynaldo Gianecchini).

In the plot, the couple and their children, apparently a perfect family, experience strange situations over which they apparently have no control, such as their twin daughters appearing mysteriously injured.

According to the author of the story, Raphael Montes who first wrote the film's script and then a book based on it, is a story about appearances and how deceiving they can be.
