Gianluca Grignani As a child he wanted to be a cowboy, and today he admits he didn’t get very far. “I’m an urban cowboy”he says. “I always imagined myself as a solitary person capable of handling difficult situations.”
The singer-songwriter, 52 years old, is the protagonist of our video interview: we met him and asked him to go back in time, to lay himself bare, to take stock. Fifty-two years, a life without filters that he has just told in Rock ‘n’ Roll Remnants – An Artist’s Honest Diary, Grignani responds to this description (written by Irama): «I believe there are two types of artists in the world. I don’t remember the first one, as Gianluca would say, the second one he is the one who experiences art on his skin, in his soul, in its purest and most exhausting way. You could call him a tenacious or stubborn person, but one thing is certain: it is not easy to bend him. On the other hand, all artists are gifted with moments of extreme sensitivity, fragility and stubbornness».
Thirty years of career just celebrated? “I’m just getting started”. The most difficult moment? “The disappearance of my father.” And then the attempted rapewhich today tells why it is time to report and not to remain silent.
