A photographer accidentally captured a giant with his camera lens skate to jump out of the water on a beach in Florida, USA.
Rasti Escandel told CNN he took the photo Sunday while spending the day with family and friends on a beach.
“I noticed something diving into the sea behind the surfer I was photographing at the time, but I did not pay attention,” he said. “It could be a fish, it could be anything.” Escandel accidentally immortalized the huge manta ray coming out of the water. However, he realized that he was this rare creature only when he saw the photos in his house again. “It was amazing,” he said.
It was his daughter who told him he saw a manta ray in the water after the photo was taken. Escandel owns a car repair shop and likes to go to the beach to take pictures.
Manta skates are one of the rarest and largest in the world and are an endangered species in the USA.
