Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik broke up

This morning I woke up with the news that I never, ever expected to read: Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid broke up!

I leave you a few seconds to recover because things are more complicated than a normal break up between celebs. Apparently, the reason for the breakup would have been a quarrel between the model’s mother, Yolanda, and the singer: in addition to loud and screaming, there would also have been an attack so much so that the mother-in-law would have decided to report him.

But that’s not all because this story should have remained private; the couple later announced the end of their relationship without specifically explaining why. Instead, people close to Yolanda Hadid they would have talked about the affair to some American tabloids, making it public in a few hours. The former One Direction has already defended himself online, posting a statement on Twitter.

He confirmed that the story was somehow “stolen”; he vaguely recounted the quarrel (his mother-in-law would have entered his house while Gigi was not there) and stressed that the real priority is to preserve his privacy to allow his daughter Khai to have a peaceful environment in which to grow. In fact, according to the leaked news, the agreement with Gigi Hadid it is to be co-parents while maintaining, as far as possible, the serenity of the child.

On the US site Tmz, however, Zayn categorically denied assaulting Yolanda and, indeed, he hopes that he will reconsider his allegations and that he will decide to handle the matter in private, without any interference from the press or without taking legal action.

The issue is quite delicate, as you can see, and an assault is a very serious fact. We just have to wait for new details to get a complete picture of this story.
