Singer Gilberto Gil, 82, stated that the greatest joy he currently experiences is doing nothing. The statement was given in an interview with presenter Angelica and shown on the Fantástico program, on TV Globo, on Sunday night (1st).
“We talk so much about doing, doing, doing… Life as a permanent construction and so on. But the great joy, the greatest joy I have lately in life is doing nothing.”
The artist’s phrase was said between laughs to answer the question “what fills your life with joy today?”.
Also singer Zeca Pagodinho, who also participated in the interview, agreed with Gil soon after: “Me too”.
And, continuing in a joking tone, Gil added: “Even doing nothing is hard work.”
In August of this year, Gil announced that he will go on the last tour of his career in 2025. The set of shows will take place in all regions of the country.
