Gina Lollobrigida’s collaborator sentenced to three years: Andrea Piazzolla is accused of circumventing an incompetent person

Andrea Piazzolla, the former collaborator of Gina Lollobrigida, was sentenced to three years in prison for circumventing an incompetent person, in addition to compensation for civil parties. The diva factotum is accused of having stolen funds amounting to several million euros and that he had given up his apartments.

The Prosecutor’s Office had requested eight years of prison against him, but Piazzolla, assisted by the lawyer Filippo Morlacchini, he defended himself by claiming that Gina Lollobrigida was perfectly capable of understanding and wanting and that he had decided in total autonomy to give some gift to his collaborator, as a sign of gratitude. According to the diva’s son, Milko Skofic, assisted by lawyers Michele and Alessandro Gentiloni Silveri, however, the actress would have been defrauded of all her assets.

In front of the judges, Piazzola explained: «I think I was the only one who took care of her with love. I have never seen anyone in Subiaco (where the actress is buried): her son, her nephew or her alleged husband.” But, according to the court, the factotum he would have taken advantage of «the weakening of the correct perception of reality and the vulnerability” of the actress in the ten years in which he was her collaborator.

Furthermore, Andrea Piazzolla will have to pay approximately half a million euros to the heirs waiting to discuss the matter in civil court. The court also ordered the release of the villa on the Appia Antica in favor of the diva’s heirs.

“It’s still painful, but the sentence brings justice,” commented Gina Lollobrigida’s son. «The truth is that it really shouldn’t have come to this. It’s about a bitter story that just shouldn’t have happened. I arrived psychologically empty at the sentence and I regret all the time I lost and the fact that I couldn’t be next to my mother.”

Angelo Perrone, a historic friend of the diva, however wanted to underline “how much esteem and affection” Gina Lollobrigida had for Andrea Piazzolla. «I take note of the sentence and like all sentences I respect it. But I don’t think we can talk about a victory for the prosecution. I certainly feel sorry for Gina who always maintained that Piazzolla was very important to her.”
