The expression, which exploded in 2022, is an abbreviation of “Nepotism Baby”. Nepotism, according to the Houaiss dictionary, is favoritism by relatives in various sectors and especially in the public power.
Following this line, “Nepo Baby” refers to a new generation of celebrities who have reached a place in the industry more easily because they already have quite active parents inside it.
“Good thing these fashion words pass,” jokes the actress. “I recognize the privileges and challenges that fame brings to my children and I try to prepare them to follow their own ways with authenticity and responsibility,” he adds.
