Giovanni Allievi and Easter greetings with a smile

The composer Giovanni Allevi he doesn’t lose his smile and remains optimistic during his battle with multiple myeloma, which he was diagnosed with in June. On the occasion of the holidays, from a bed that seems to be in a hospital, he reassures the public about his condition: «Easter is approaching, the day of rebirth – he writes to his over 131,000 followers – and perhaps it is no coincidence that it coincides with my birthday . I’ve had a very tough year but I want to rejoice with you the good news that according to today’s last exams I’m doing great!

Words are not enough to thank the medical and nursing staff of the Milan Cancer Institute who are accompanying me on this tortuous journey. I wish I could hug all the “warrior” patients who are struggling like me and who have always encouraged me with their example, and support those who are now starting the therapeutic journey: research is making great strides! Thanks to all of you and my family for the tremendous support.
I’m confident we’ll see each other soon, with lots of new music and a different view of the world!!!
A kiss from Giovanni, weakened and “discombined” but very happy.
Happy Easter everyone! ❤️❤️❤️”.

A few days ago, on the occasion of theInternational Piano Day left another touching message via Instagram: «My hands are shaking from the drugs and therefore the return to the piano will be slow. However I have never stopped composing music in my mind, to transform all the sensations I am experiencing into notes. Thanks to Music, even suffering and discouragement acquire meaning. I’ve never loved life like I do right now!”

Joy, optimism and hope, but also moments of discouragement, for the 53-year-old composer originally from Ascoli Piceno who are human and very understandable, when in the past he revealed to the public: «Myeloma has left me with bone fractures in various parts of the body, in particular the vertebrae, some of which are inoperable and perhaps will remain sore forever. AND then I wonder what it means to fight. My hands are now shaking from the drugs, but a new music rushes into my mind and I don’t miss a single note. Now it’s sweet, now crazy and incomprehensible, dreamy and reflective, metaphysical. I can’t wait to let you hear it.”

To get to know the Maestro better, perhaps these days it is good for the soul to listen to his melodies again but also to read the first book, La musica in testa, from 2008. Meanwhile, wishes for a speedy recovery come to him from all corners of the earth, from all hearts touched by his talent.
