fgirlfriend for Rent it is a successful film. Despite winking at the classic American comedystays away from its more classics cliche. There’s certainly no shortage of prom and everything that’s just a teenager about to go to college. The film directed by Gene Stupnitsky is about Maddie, a charming girl who lives in Montauk, a small town in the suburbs of New York. Her life never goes beyond the linear, at least it is until economic difficulties surprise her, forcing her to have to give up her car and running the risk of having her house seized too. In a panic, she finds herself having to cope with her misfortunes, ending up responding to a job advertisement that proposes her to become the girlfriend of an extremely shy and insecure boy: Percy. The bizarre premise causes the two to be the protagonists of extravagant adventures, sometimes bordering on the hilarious. There is no shortage of laughter, Fidanzata for Rent manages to make impropriety brilliant, enhancing self-irony and avoiding being offensive, in fact she knows how to accentuate and limit at the most appropriate moments.
The thing that most remains at the end of the film is the performance of Jennifer Lawrence. Although one may think that it is a simple part, the actress of Hunger Games she manages to best immerse herself in the character, never resulting out of place and always believable even in situations in which one is not used to seeing her, such as the difficult scene of the fight on the beach, in which she is completely naked and enjoys a street fight, without ever flowing into the vulgar. A breath of fresh air for a genre that seemed to be getting lost, forced into television broadcasts without being able to find its place in the cinema. Girlfriend for rent fits perfectly into the programming, offering a disengaged and fun show.
