“Gladiator 2” gets trailer with flashbacks and electrifying scenes; watch

The first trailer of “Gladiator 2” was released this Tuesday (9). Watch below. The production that follows the 2000 film has premiere scheduled for November 14th in Brazilian cinemas.

The plot is set 25 years after the events of the first film, in which Maximus (Russell Crowe), a powerful Roman general, arouses the wrath of Marcus Aurelius’ (Richard Harris) son, Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix), before the emperor’s death. When the heir takes power, he is sentenced to death, however, he manages to escape and goes into hiding as a slave and gladiator while seeking revenge.

The film centers on Lucius, son of Lucilla and nephew of Commodus, who was modeled after Maximus. In “Gladiator” (2000), the character is a child, played by Spencer Treat Clark .

When he was still young, Lucilla sent him to the northern coast of Africa, to a region called Numidia which was – at that time – beyond the reach of the Roman Empire. When he was older, he He lives a relatively peaceful life with his wife and children until the conquerors of his homeland invade his new home, led by a general trained by Maximus.

The title stars the Oscar-nominated Irish actor Paul Mescal and has names like Denzel Washington , Connie Nielsen It is Joseph Quinn in the cast. Like the first film, the sequel is directed by Ridley Scott known for his work in “Alien, the Eighth Passenger” (1979) and “Prometheus” (2012).
