Glastonbury 2025 will have Rod Stewart at a time reserved for music legends

Singer Rod Stewart, 79, was announced this Tuesday (26) as the attraction of the Legend Slot for the 2025 edition of the Glastonbury festival, which takes place annually in England. The space is usually reserved for music legends, with shows that always take place at “teatime”, the name given to the time when the British have their traditional tea.

Responsible for bringing together one of the biggest audiences of the Glastonbury weekend, Legend Slot has hosted names such as Diana Ross, Tony Bennett, Dolly Parton, Kylie Minogue and Lionel Richie, it took place for the first time in 1998 and marks an era in which veteran artists they do not always occupy the main spaces in event line-ups. Now, headliners tend to be younger.

In this year’s edition, the Canadian singer Shania Twain, 59, performed in prime time. Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA were the main attractions of the festival, which also featured names such as Jessie Ware, The National, Disclosure, LCD Soundsystem, Janelle Monáe, PJ Harvey, Camila Cabello, Avril Lavigne, Two Doors Cinema Club, Nothing But Thieves and Jungle.

Rod Stewart was the first and only artist announced by the festival organizers, who are expected to make public the attractions for next year’s edition soon. THE Glastonbury will take place between June 25th and 29th, 2025.
