The debut of “Glee” turns 15 this Sunday (19). The series, famous for its musical covers, follows a McKinley school choir group over six seasons and aired its last episode in 2015.
In the cast, names like Lea Michele (Rachel Berry) and Cory Monteith (Finn Hudson) stand out. The actor, who was also Lea's real-life boyfriend, passed away in July 2013 after an overdose. Last year, the actress paid tribute to him, on the 10th anniversary of his death.
Pregnant with her second child, the star was recently on the red carpet at the Met Gala. In addition to the successful series, Lea was in the cast of “Scream Queens” and in a revival of the play “Funny Girl” on Broadway.
In addition to Cory, two other “Glee” actors have passed away. Mark Salling who played Noah “Puck” Puckerman, was found dead in 2018, aged 35.
What little is known about the circumstances of Salling's death is that police responded to a call about a death in the wooded area of Tujunga, Los Angeles, on January 30, 2018.
Two years earlier, he was accused of receiving and storing child pornography materials. Salling pleaded guilty to the possession charge and was scheduled to be sentenced on March 7 of the year he died.
Naya Rivera, known for her role as Santana Lopez, was 33 years old when she died from an accidental drowning in 2020.
After his passing, his cast friends organized and formed “Snixxmas” in his honor. In support of charity, the series' actors meet annually and carry out actions at the end of the year to help those in need. At the end of last year, they performed a new song by Naya in exchange for donations.
