Gloria Groove released this Thursday (8) the video for “Xuxa Mode” . Paying homage to the Queen of Shorties, the singer also had the participation of Xuxa Meneghel in audiovisual production.
The track – which makes several references to the Xuxa program, music and films – is part of the album “Futuro Fluxo”. Gloria Groove's funk album is the singer's third studio album and was released in November 2023.
In the video, the artist plays several old video games and is taken into a game, with several references to the presenter's career. In this space adventure game, a villain appears speaking the opposite – which is Xuxa herself who then enters into a spaceship battle against Gloria Groove in the “Star Wars” style.
“Xuxa is an icon, a legend, an important part of national iconography and I wanted to pay tribute to her during her lifetime. The clip has several references to the rich universe she created and her contribution to futuristic aesthetics in Brazil, which is part of the Futuro Fluxo era”, explains Gloria Groove.
Much more than appearing in the video, Xuxa also made a point of participating in the creative process. “I invited her and she was very happy, she even had the idea of being the 'arch enemy' of the video, as the initial idea was to have a heavenly Xuxa”, says the singer.
“Modo Xuxa is far from being a work song, or a bet for carnival, it is a project to honor, record, and celebrate Xuxa's career, which shaped national culture and remained present throughout”, he adds.
