Goalkeeper Bruno is convicted of delaying his son’s pension with Eliza Samudio

Goalkeeper Bruno Fernandes was arrested for delaying the payment of alimony for his son with Eliza Samudio, murdered in 2010.

According to the decision of the 17th Civil Chamber of Rio de Janeiro, there has been no deposit since January 2020, totaling R$ 90.7 thousand in debt.

The athlete’s defense tried to revoke the measure, justifying the payment of four overdue installments, in the amount of R$ 9,700 each.

However, according to the judge Marcia Ferreira Alvarenga, “the partial discharge of the food debt does not have the power to avoid the decree of arrest”.

In July 2019, the Justice of Minas Gerais granted Bruno a semi-open home regime. In 2013, he was sentenced to 20 years and nine months in prison for the crimes of triple qualified murder, kidnapping and concealment of a corpse.

Eliza disappeared in 2010, at the age of 25, and was considered dead by the courts. At the time, the goalkeeper played for Flamengo.

Arrested in 2010, Bruno gained the right to the benefit after having served the time necessary for the progression of the sentence, as provided for in the Penal Executions Law (LEP).
