The monsters King Kong It is Godzilla are back, but this time, instead of wreaking havoc by fighting each other, they will unite – and destroy everything together. After “Godzilla vs Kong” in 2021, now they unite in “Godzilla and Kong: The New Empire” .
The film will see the return of the two titans and also the scientist Ilene Andrews, played by Rebecca Hall, and the conspiracy theorist, Bernie, played by Brian Tyree Henry. The film introduces “Downtown Abbey” and “Beauty and the Beast” actor Dan Stevens as the eccentric veterinarian Trapper.
In the sequence, Kong and Godzilla feel a threat coming from the Hollow Earth, their origin, and they can only win if they form a team. They are aided in their mission by Andrews' adopted daughter, Jia, played by Kaylee Hottle, who can also sense a hidden enemy.
“The technology is there, the trust is there, it's time to, for the first time, make a movie that allows (the monsters) to tell their own story from their own (point of view),” director Adam Wingard told Reuters.
“I was really excited to get to do all these visually driven sequences and sometimes we go eight minutes without a line of dialogue and you're just there with the monsters.”
“This is the dream movie I always wanted to see when I was a kid, it’s all about that, fulfilling this lifelong goal,” added Wingard, who also directed “Godzilla vs Kong.”
“Godzilla and Kong: The New Empire” will begin its global showing in theaters this Wednesday (27). The debut in Brazil is scheduled for this Thursday (28).
