The Goiás Security Forces seized more than a ton of illegal pesticides and arrested four people this Monday (19).
According to the Goiás authorities, a criminal association that sold pesticides without origin and unsuitable for consumption was dismantled. This pesticide was sold in several regions of Goiás, Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul.
Apart from the seizure of the pesticide and the arrests, the task force also seized the three cars that transported the illegal product, and in total everything should cause a loss of around R$ 6 million for the criminal organization.
Those involved will answer for crimes of criminal association, environmental crime and commercialization of illicit products.
The task force is formed by the civil, military and federal highway police, in addition to the Brazilian Institute for the Environment (Ibama).
