A Gol plane made an emergency landing at Belo Horizonte International Airport this Thursday morning (15). The company explained that the deviation in the route of flight G31694, which departed at 10:38 am from Guarulhos to Salvador, was due to “technical problems”.
“The crew conducted the procedures as recommended,” Gol said in a statement, stressing that “all procedures were carried out with a focus on safety.” The diversion was reported to the airport around 12:10 pm and ten minutes later the plane landed.
According to BH Airport, the concessionaire that manages Belo Horizonte International Airport, the runway was inspected and released at 12:24 pm. The 169 passengers on board the aircraft managed to disembark safely and were relocated on another flight to Salvador at 4:20 pm.
“All security procedures were adopted at the airport to help answer the call”, declared BH Airport. Gol also reported that passengers “are receiving all the facilities” while waiting for the next aircraft in the capital of Minas Gerais.
