To the Instagram notes were different this Friday (9). If you have opened the application, you may have noticed that some of the short messages that appear above the users’ profile photo have a yellow (or gold) background instead of white.
The answer is a new feature that changes the color of notes with the word “gold” (gold), in tribute to the Paris Olympics — and the gold medals won by the athletes.
The color change also occurs with other terms related to the Games, such as “Olympics” or the medal emojis.
Since Meta didn’t officially announce the change, users found out about the change on their own by using the word in their notes.
Instagram’s notes feature launched in late 2022, and allows users to post a short, temporary message (up to 60 characters) on the social network. These messages appear above profile photos in the direct messages area.
Of course, the change wasn’t just a hot topic on Instagram; users of X, formerly Twitter, also commented on the new feature. Some liked it, some thought it was tacky, and of course, there were also memes.

People on Instagram are happy with so little, everything is stupid with this nonsense about gold grades, I wish my brain was that smooth
