No red carpet to walk on, no room to fill and no table to sit at. The award ceremony of the 78th Golden Globes, the awards awarded by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association expected in the night between Sunday 28 February and Monday 1 March, will be the first to give up the luxury of face-to-face sharing by following in the footsteps of the latest Emmys, also delivered with remotely connected candidates. The evening, which will start on March 1st at 2 am Italian time, it will literally be divided between two banks: the Lonsangelina one, with Amy Poehler in connection from the Beverly Hilton Hotel, the room that has always hosted the ceremony in past years, and the New York one, with Tina Fey live from the Rainbow Room.
For the Italian night owl audience and eager to discover the name of the winners live the appointment is on Sky, which will offer subscribers a double mode of use: su Sky Atlantic, which will offer the full live broadcast of the evening starting at 00.30 (Monday 1 March evening, instead, a re-edition with the highlights of the ceremony will be broadcast starting at 7.40 pm), and on Sky TG24, which will follow the event starting at 1am with the studio commentary by Denise Negri (Sky TG24), Federico Chiarini (Sky Atlantic) and Francesco Castelnuovo (Sky Cinema), supported by numerous video contributions and the participation of Alessandra Venezia , a member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, and journalist and writer Marta Perego.
The pre-show, less glamorous than usual given the absence of commentary from the stars’ clothes on the red carpet, will begin at 00.30, while the actual ceremony, conducted by Poehler and Fey, will begin at 2. To prepare the public for the long night of the Golden Globes, always considered the antechamber of the Oscars that this year will be staged on April 25, about two months after their traditional appointment, will always be Sky who, from February 24 to March 3 , transforms channel 111 into Sky Atlantic Maratone – Golden Globes, a pop-up channel entirely dedicated to the many Sky candidate series (all available on demand on Sky and streaming on NOW TV) including The Undoing – The Untold Truths (4 nominations, including Best Miniseries and Best Actors to Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant); Lovecraft Country – The land of demons (nominated for Best Drama Series); Your Honor (with a great Bryan Cranston in pole position as best actor in a miniseries), One face, two destinies with Mark Ruffalo, former Emmy Award winner. To light up on February 28 is also Sky Cinema Due con Golden Movies, a marathon with a selection of titles already awarded at the Golden Globe in the past years such as E.T., The Aviator, Atonement, La La Land, Once upon a time in… Hollywood e Parasite.
