A Golden Retriever dog became pregnant and gave birth to nine puppies from a Shih Tzu dog, in Santa Catarina. The story has gone viral on the internet, after the discovery of the paternity of the nine puppies that were born at the end of September.
It all started when Nina’s family (Golden dog) needed to go on vacation. The family pet, which already had two other dogs, was left with a caregiver, who didn’t realize that Nina had gone into heat.
According to a report from the owner, Márcia Tasca, on social media, the caregiver believed that the bleeding was a wound on the animal’s paw.
On the weekend of the family trip, Nina stayed at a dog hotel in Joinville. It was there where the “date” took place that culminated in the pregnancy of the Golden Retriever and the “fatherhood” of the Shih Tzu.
The family even suspected another Golden dog, who was staying at the same hotel, on the weekend that Nina became pregnant, which was not confirmed based on the analysis of the animals’ coat.
In a post on Instagram, Márcia says that there were moments of “expectation” to discover the paternity of the puppies. She even “investigated” the possible parents, but said that after the birth, it became clear who they were. See video .
Multiplied family
On social media, Márcia says that after a laborious birth, Nina gave birth to nine puppies, six males and three females. The arrival into the world, however, was thanks to the necessary cesarean section, due to the dog’s absence from labor.
Nina’s owner says that, due to the invasive procedure, Nina did not recognize the puppies immediately after birth.
The family took over the bottles, and fed the calf throughout the night, postpartum. She reports that the next day, Golden started to get closer, and the force of nature bypassed the bonds between mother and puppies.
All the animals have already been donated, with the exception of one that will stay with the family, as a Children’s Day gift that Márcia gave to her young daughter.
The father
Márcia reveals the identity of Thor, the “father” of the nine puppies. She writes that the dog “didn’t know either”, and that the puppy fell in love “with a beautiful blonde, without understanding the consequences”.
Although she assumes that after the impact of the news about Golden’s pregnancy, the dog’s identity was not the most important thing for her, in a post with a photo of the Shih Tzu, she admits that Thor has a “damn strong” gene.
In the same post, the Shih Tzu’s owner comments saying “I’m getting used to this new life as a grandmother” and laughs. On the networks, Jaqueline Borges published a photo with Thor on his back, with the caption: “Thor very worried after getting a Golden pregnant and having 9 puppies!!!”. Look .
