Goodbye to Joe Lara, the TV Tarzan died in a plane crash

The efforts of the rescue teams were worth nothing. Joe Lara, known for lending the face to Tarzan, in the television series The Great Adventure, died last Saturday, victim of a plane crash. The 58-year-old actor lost his life along with his wife, Gwen Shamblin, and five other people in the crash of a private jet, departed from Smyrna Rutheford County and plunged into the waters of Percy Priest Lake.

“Our efforts have gone from a first hope of rescue to the realization that we would have recovered the corpses,” a spokesman for the rescue teams, who worked on the spot for hours, explained to the press.

However, for the actor and his wife, who have been married since 2018, there was no chance of salvation. Lara, whose film career she kicked off with Tarzan a Manhattan, a CBS film, left behind his daughter Liana, had by Natasha Pavlovich.
