Google adds Windows 11 style menu to Chrome: design won’t come as a surprise

In Chrome Gerrit, there is a mention that Google is working on adding a Windows 11-style menu to the browser.

At the moment it is not known what the design will be for pop-up contextual windows in Chrome, but the approximate appearance with a high degree of probability will be similar to that in Edge for Windows 11. Judging by the description, the new style will be enabled in the browser not only for the new version of the system, but and for older Windows – apparently through the developer menu.

Context menu in Edge for Windows 11

According to Microsoft canons, “Windows 11 style” in the case of contextual windows means the use of rounds, as well as translucency with a slight blur effect, which together creates the effect of an acrylic material. This design solution is used not only in the proprietary Edge browser, but also in all standard applications, as well as in the system itself.
