According to Jamie Collier, chief intelligence adviser to Google Threat Intelligence Group, North Korean hackers are increasingly masked under cryptocurrencies and crypto experts:
“They try to cause trust, communicate and use artificial intelligence to create a more believable correspondence with potential victims.”
IN Wiz toldthat the North Korean hacker groups, such as Lazarus Group, Apt38, Bluenoroff, Stardust Chollima and Tradertraitor, improve hacking methods using artificial intelligence.
“Hackers are focusing, including on cloud attacks, because it is there that data is stored there – and therefore money. This is especially true for the crypto industry. We do not see any signs of a slowdown in activity and expect the scaling of attacks, ”representatives said Wiz.
The number of hackers working in the North Korean groups, Google and Wiz experts are estimated at tens of thousands of people. The international community has not yet developed effective measures to combat them, experts said.
Earlier, the United States, Japan and the Republic of Korea called on participants in the crypto industry and blockchain developers to unite in public-private partnerships for a joint struggle against hackers from North Korea.
