Google announced on Tuesday (9) the creation of a new application in its Workspace: Videos . The software was released as a facilitator presentations in the workplace.
The tool integrates with the company's other applications such as Presentations and Drive, but the highlight is the combination with Gemini, the company's artificial intelligence chat. It is possible to request via commands the generation of a draft of a structured video from a slideshow, for example.
You can also share the project with other users to make comments or edit them themselves, just like other Google applications work.
The company's objective was not to create a tool for artistic and very complex videos, but rather work projects to, for example, present complex proposals or ideas, summarize the week's events and monitor team activity.
In an interview with The Verge, Kristina Behr, Google's vice president of product management for Workspace apps, said: “The philosophy we have is that if you can make a slide, you can make a video in Vids.” And she added that, with the tool, “No video production is necessary.”
The beta version is expected to be released in the American summer, with the possibility of early release for Gemini subscribers.
