Merlin Labs, a young company, has announced a partnership with aerospace company Dynamic Aviation, under which onboard automation software developed by Merlin Labs will be installed on 55 King Air general-purpose aircraft, owned by Dynamic Aviation.
Over the past several months, Merlin Labs has tested its software on a number of aircraft, including two turboprop aircraft, at its dedicated flight center at Mojave Aerospace Port. Tests included the first aircraft provided in collaboration with Dynamic Aviation.
Merlin Labs has raised $ 25 million in funding, including funds from Google Ventures, Alphabet’s venture capital arm. According to the company, the platform it develops for self-driving flights is not tied to specific aircraft, which allows it to be installed on existing and new models.
