Google has begun blocking the accounts of deputies on the sanctions lists. So, the company blocked the personal account of State Duma deputy Nina Ostanina, and also deleted the YouTube channel linked to it.

“Google Account has been disabled due to our export restrictions and sanctions policies and cannot be restored”says the corresponding alert.
Similar restrictions were also reported by other deputies – Maria Butina, Mikhail Matveev and Evgeny Fedorov.
Recall that at the end of March, the United States imposed sanctions against State Duma deputies as a response to the decision to recognize the DPR and LPR. Packages of measures against parliamentarians have also been introduced by Japan, Britain and the European Union.
Meanwhile, the head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications Alexander Khinshtein is sure that this is only the beginning, and Google will continue to block the accounts of Russian authorities.
“Of course, Google will continue to block the accounts and YouTube channels of representatives of the Russian authorities. It is for this reason that I (alas) no longer maintain accounts in foreign social networks and do not use Gmail. What I recommend to my colleagues”Khinshtein wrote in his Telegram channel.
