Google has released an update for the Google Camera application (Google Camera) with support for slow motion shooting of the starry sky.

Enthusiasts noticed clues hinting at this feature last week. Now the new mode has appeared in Google Camera stable version 8.2.400 for Android on Google Play.
This has been noticed by the XDA Developers community of mobile developers. At least the new mode appeared after updating the app on Pixel 4 with Android 11 installed.

Google Camera’s advanced settings now have a new toggle “enable slow motion for astrophotography” with the explanation that the mode will require more storage space. The night mode settings also now provide advice on astrophotography, with a recommendation to wait at least 2.5 minutes while shooting.
