Google has made a decision that will not please those users who continue to cling to outdated versions of the proprietary Chrome browser for whatever reason.

On its official support forum, Google announced that synchronization with Chrome 48 and older will no longer be supported with the release of Chrome 96.
Thus, if you like the “vintage” version of Chrome, and you do not want to update it, then all your actions will stop syncing – bookmarks, browsing history, and much more. The browser will continue to work, but without communication with your other devices.
Of course, such a move by Google should come as no surprise. Chrome 48 was released in 2016 – a full five years ago. Since then, the online world has changed a lot. Even a veteran as veteran as the Windows XP operating system supports Chrome 49.
Users still have a couple of weeks before Google releases the stable version of Chrome 96 – the release should take place on November 16.
